Our understanding of how novel warning color traits evolve in natural populations is largely based on studies of reproductive stages and organisms with endogenously produced pigmentation. In these systems, genetic drift is often required for novel alleles to overcome strong purifying selection stemming from frequency-dependent predation and positive assortative mating. As lymphatic microsurgery has become more common, vascularized lymph node transfer ascended to the forefront in many centers for the surgical management of advanced stages of lymphedema showing substantial clinical improvement. However, no consensus has been reached among experts regarding many details of the procedures, including patient selection criteria, type of treatment, donor, and recipient sites and postoperative evaluation of the outcome. Here, we will review these issues and provide the current results of this procedure.

Siirtyminen perinteisestä opetuksesta verkko-opetukseen ei käy käden käänteessä. Paine lisääntyvään tieto- ja viestintäteknologian ja verkon opetuskäyttöön kuitenkin kasvaa. Verkko-opetus ja -opiskelu edellyttävät opettajilta uusia tapoja opettaa, mutta ne vaativat myös opiskelijoilta uusia tyylejä oppia. Tarvitaan virtuaalisia opetus- ja opiskelutaitoja. Kirjoituksessa kerrotaan Keski-Suomen Opinpolku projektista ja sen jälkivaiheista. Opinpolku tarjosi opettajille vierikoulusta, jonka tavoitteena oli kohentaa didaktisia perustaitoja tietotekniikan opetuskäytössä. Haasteina ovat opettajien ajankäyttö, verkkodidaktiikka ja tekniikka.

Although showrooming behaviour is a characteristic aspect of modern omnichannel retailing, our understanding of its antecedents remains limited. In this study, we aim to address this gap in prior research by examining how showrooming behaviour is affected by three different kinds of perceived consumer capabilities: general online shopping skilfulness, mobile online shopping skilfulness, and multichannel self-efficacy. Performance analysis of Latvian zenith camera

Since finalizing of design in 2016, the digital zenith camera of the University of Latvia was involved in a number of test observations as well as field observations at about 70 different sites. The paper presents analysis of observation results, estimation of instrument’s performance and accuracy. Random and systematic error sources are outlined. Impact of anomalous refraction on vertical deflection determination is discussed. Results of adaptation of GAIA reference star catalog for astrometric data reduction are reported.
Thermodynamically driven self-assembly of pyridinearene to hexameric capsules

Pyridinearene macrocycles have previously shown unique host–guest properties in their capsular dimers including endo complexation of neutral molecules and exo complexation of anions. Here, we demonstrate for the first time the formation of hydrogen bonded hexamer of tetraisobutyl-octahydroxypyridinearene in all three states of matter – gas phase, solution and solid-state. Cationic tris(bipyridine)ruthenium(II) template was found to stabilize the hexamer in gas phase, whereas solvent molecules do this in condensed phases. Aiemmat tutkimukset ovat osoittaneet vastakkainasettelun luokassa ja luokan ulkopuolella tapahtuvassa kielenkäytössä ja oppimisessa. Tässä artikkelissa tarkastelen neljää amerikkalaista suomenoppijaa ja sitä, miten he hakeutuvat aktiivisina toimijoina itsenäisiin suomen kielen käyttötilanteisiin. Artikkelin aineistona on portfoliotehtävä, jossa oppijat ovat dokumentoineet ja reflektoineet itsenäistä, luokkahuoneen ulkopuolella tapahtuvaa kielenkäyttöään. IVyF: Validez de un Instrumento de Medida de las Fortalezas del Carácter de la Clasificación de Peterson y Seligman (2004)

El IVyF (Strength of Character Inventory, en inglés) es un instrumento de medición de las 24 fortalezas del carácter de la clasificación de Peterson y Seligman (2004). A diferencia de otros cuestionarios homólogos para medir las fortalezas de esa clasificación que están compuestos por decenas de ítems, el IVyF es un instrumento de medición de 24 ítems. Este estudio se enfocó en la validez del IVyF. En primer lugar, el IVyF estuvo asociado a medidas de variables conceptualmente relevantes como satisfacción con la vida, los factores de personalidad del modelo de los Cinco Grandes, y deseabilidad social.
